Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of goodmorninghaiti.com (the “Site”), operated by ZIRC ART TECHNOLOGY. By using the Site you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the Site.
What this Site is
The Site is a reference collection of Haitian proverbs, expressions and related material, together with a directory of Haitian writers and thinkers.
Rights in the material
The Site draws a deliberate line between two different things:
- The Kreyòl sayings themselves are in the public domain. Haitian proverbs are anonymous folk heritage. No one holds rights in them, including us. Use them freely.
- The English translations, the explanatory notes, the editorial selection and arrangement, the page designs and the generated posters are ours, and are protected by copyright. You may quote them with attribution. You may not copy the collection wholesale or republish it as a competing compilation.
Biographical facts about the people listed are facts and are free to use.
Posters
Downloadable posters may be shared on social media unchanged and with the goodmorninghaiti.com mark left intact. Do not sell them, and do not remove the mark.
Accuracy
Proverbs vary in wording between regions and between Haiti and the diaspora. Entries carry a status showing whether we have confirmed them against independent sources. Entries marked unverified are exactly that. The Site is offered for reference and cultural interest and is not offered as a scholarly authority.
No warranty
The Site is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, ZIRC ART TECHNOLOGY is not liable for any loss arising from use of the Site or reliance on its content.
Links out
We link to third-party sites. We do not control them and are not responsible for them.
Changes
We may amend these terms. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
Governing law
These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of the Site, are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
Any such dispute shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts sitting in the State of New York, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
